Our Town’s Story

In 2012, a devastating fire gutted a row of historic downtown Byron buildings — over 100 years of history gone in a single night. Six businesses and a piece of our town’s heart were lost. What followed was a slow domino effect: fewer shops, fewer pedestrians, and fewer reasons for people to gather in the heart of our community.

Now, we’re ready to change that. Riverview Coffee plans to open right on that very corner, breathing new life into a space that’s been quiet for far too long. We believe in the power of good coffee, friendly faces, and a place where neighbors can meet, laugh, and reconnect.

Our hope is simple — to help bring our community back together and make this corner of Byron a place where life happens again.

Who
we are

Hi! I’m Reagan Murphree. I’m 17 years old and in my senior year of high school. I’ve always loved business, people, and my small town—and I’ve found a way to combine all three through my dream of opening a local coffee and smoothie shop right here in Byron. Last year, I took a Marketing and Entrepreneurship class at the Genesee Career Institute, and it was a game-changer for me. That experience made me realize just how much I love the process of building something from the ground up. This coffee shop means a lot to me—not just as a business, but as something I know our town really needs. I’m excited to create something that brings people together, supports the community, and gives Byron something to be proud of.
